session or an ORCKA Flatwater Kayaking Course.
PMH Outdoors will customize our
instruction to meet your Kayaking requirements and specific paddling needs. Our instructors are all
qualified, personable and experienced paddlers. Call to arrange
safe, quality kayak instruction tailored to meet the needs of you or
your group!
Instruction, kayaks, safety equipment
and a great paddling location are all provided. You bring your enthusiasm for
this great sport!
Learn to Kayak
This
session introduces you to the basic paddling skills and kayak safety
enabling you to go
and safely enjoy paddling on your own.
Flatwater Kayaking
This Ontario
Recreational Canoeing & Kayaking Association (ORCKA) course is for those paddlers who wish
to learn more about Kayaking safety, theory and paddling skills.
ORCKA Flatwater Kayaking Instructor
Course
This challenging ORCKA course is for those with a desire to teach basic
kayaking skills, typically in a camp or education environment. The course introduces
students to instructional technique and refines sea kayaking
paddling skills with emphasis on:
- safety
- practical teaching techniques
- practice teaching sessions
- kayaking skill practice and refinement
Course Dates
July 15th
to July 19th 2015
Course Location
This is a residential
course (tent sites and meals provided) that
will be conducted at the PMH Outdoors Homeplace located at the confluence of
the Mississippi and Ottawa Rivers.
Equipment
Required
You will need to bring
your own kayak, spray skirt, paddle and regulation safety equipment,
including PFD. Bring suitable outdoor clothing for cold, wet and hot weather.
You will require your own tent. Washroom and shower facilities are on site.
Course Administration

must be 16 years of age at the time of the course.
Course price is $795.00 plus HST per student.

fee covers:
- ORCKA Kayakin Program Manual
- ORCKA 2015 Instructor Membership
- ORCKA Flatwater Kayaking Instructor instruction &
personalized coaching
- use of PFDs and all regulation safety equipment
- use of kayaking instructional aids
- breakfast, lunch, dinner and
two snacks daily included
- on site camping
